Infra Group Leader

Brief Description
Seeking a generalist capable of lead and performing a broad range of software installations and support in UNIX environments. Must be able to manage installation and configure 3rd party vendor products with heavy emphasis on WebLogic & IIS admin. The individual will be responsible for supporting development, QA and production installations, upgrades, troubleshooting issues and developing tools/procedures to streamline support efforts.
Detailed Description
•Install and configure company products on UNIX & NT servers
•Provide support of installations for development, QA and other customers, as part of a normal product development life cycle.
•Manage internal projects (e.g., installations, planning upgrades of existing hardware, redistribution of servers, setting standards for installations)
•Development of tools (i.e. UNIX, SQL) to aid in the support and installation of company products.
•Create/refine technical documentation/procedures for application configuration, installation, and troubleshooting.
•Position may include occasional external customer facing installation and/or support.
•Communicate with personnel of many cultures and in multiple locations.
•Aid SA in the area of system monitoring, troubleshooting utilizing Oracle and UNIX tool suit
•On call duty
•Leads a team of Infra developers based on amdocs methodologies
•Provides roadmap and design of the Infra tools
•Performs HL and detail design with the team.
•Communication with Development Center and relevant forums in order to keep up-to-date with process/procedures/tools/best-practices of amdocs
•Provide user support as required for prod/non-prod envs
•Customer Facing
•Monitor the DB, Servers and FS in production
•Validate/ensure good performance stability and scalability
•Identify possible bottlenecks and provide resolution including implementation plan
•Participate in new design meetings to identify possible bottlenecks and provide recommendations

Technical Skills
•Minimum of 8 years in Infrastructure platforms: HP-UX, NT, Oracle, IIS, Weblogic
•Middleware - Strong emphasis on configuration and general admin. – WebLogic
•Web server - on IIS administration - advantage
•Knowledge and experience in Amdocs Test Envs –Run Time Environments – advantage
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
•Experience in the interpretation and coding of UNIX shell scripts (ksh, Perl, etc.) and/or SQL.
•Knowledge of Oracle database administration functions.
•Knowledge in amdocs OMS - advantage


Additional Management Skills Desired

•Amdocs next generation experience. (Amdocs 7 and below) - Advantage
•Management experience (at least 2-3 people)
•Ability to lead technical projects
Education / Experience
•Bachelor of Science [Computer Science] or Practical Engineer with equivalent experience
•Good communications and organizational skills
•Ability to interact with development and testing organizations
•Understanding of software development lifecycles.
•Ability to manage smaller technical projects
•Ability to perform knowledge transfer to team members
•Ability to create technical documentation
